Choosing a school

A female Qur'an teacher for your daughter

Most online academies say a female teacher is "available on request". The question to ask is what happens when she is ill, leaves, or the timetable changes: is the requirement written on your daughter's record and enforced by the school's assignment system, or is it a preference that gives way to whoever is free? At the school it is the former — fixed at booking, binding on substitutes, and never overridden by availability — and every female teacher was examined and background-checked exactly as every male teacher was.

"Available on request" is not a guarantee

Many academies recruit fewer female teachers than male, and "female teacher available" often means "if one is free at your time". The failure is rarely on day one; it is in month four, when your daughter\'s teacher is unwell and a substitute is assigned without anyone checking. Ask the academy directly: if her teacher is away, who decides who covers, and what stops them assigning a man?

The requirement should be on the record, not in someone\'s memory

At the school the requirement is a field on the student\'s record, set at booking. The assignment system will not assign a male teacher to a student whose family has asked for a female one — it is not a note a coordinator has to remember, it is a rule the software enforces. A substitute is chosen from female teachers only. If none is available at your time, the lesson is moved, not the requirement.

Are female teachers examined to the same standard?

Yes, and it is worth asking any academy the same. Every teacher here — female or male — sits the same recorded examination in recitation and teaching, the same background check, the same technical readiness check, and signs the same continuity undertaking. The selection process does not have a shorter version for women.

Will I see her photograph?

Only with her consent. A female teacher is never required to be photographed as a condition of teaching, and many prefer not to be. You meet her in the free trial lesson, on camera, in the classroom — which tells you more than a portrait would.

What about my daughter\'s privacy?

The classroom has a one-time link per lesson, so no one can join who was not sent it. Every lesson with a child is recorded and you can watch it. The school holds a first name, an age and the teacher-gender requirement — no photograph, no address. The safeguarding policy is published in full.

For women, too

The same applies to a mother, a sister or an aunt learning for herself: a female teacher, one-to-one, in private, at hours that fit a household. The female teachers page explains the courses.

In short
  • Ask what happens when the teacher is away — that is where "available on request" fails.
  • The requirement should be on the record and enforced by the system, binding on substitutes.
  • Female teachers examined and checked to exactly the same standard.
  • Photographs only with the teacher's consent; you meet her in the trial.
Questions parents ask

Related questions

Can a boy have a female teacher?

Yes. Many families choose a female teacher for a young boy, and the school honours that choice on the record in the same way.

Is the trial lesson also with a female teacher?

If you ask for a female teacher at booking, the trial is taught by one — and where possible by the teacher who would go on to teach your daughter.
