How much do online Qur'an classes cost in 2026?

In September 2026, established online Qur'an academies charge roughly US$40–50 a month for two thirty-minute one-to-one lessons a week, $55–70 for three, and $85–110 for five; forty-five-minute lessons cost about half as much again, and most academies add a one-time registration fee. The school's own fees are $49, $69 and $109 a month for two, three and five days a week of thirty-minute lessons, with a one-off admission fee of $49 charged only if you accept a place at the free trial, and no contract.

What do online Qur'an classes typically cost?

We checked the published fee pages of the academies that rank highest for "online Qur'an classes" in September 2026. For one-to-one, thirty-minute lessons the range was:

Forty-five-minute lessons run about one and a half times the thirty-minute price. Hourly marketplaces quote $10–16 an hour per teacher, before their platform fee. Most academies also charge a one-time registration fee, which is often not on the pricing page.

What changes the price?

• Lesson length. Thirty minutes suits the Qaidah, Nazirah and Tajweed; Hifz and Tafseer need forty-five.
• Frequency. The per-lesson price usually falls as the number of days rises.
• One-to-one or group. A group of students with one teacher is cheaper per student. At the school, a group of up to is % off the one-to-one fee.
• Teacher credentials. Some academies charge more for a teacher with an ijāzah or for tafsīr. Here every teacher is examined to the same standard and the fee is by course length, not by teacher.
• Currency. Fees quoted in US dollars are charged in your card's currency by the payment processor at the day's rate.

Which fees are easy to miss?

• Registration fees that appear after the free trial.
• "Starting from" prices that apply to one lesson a week.
• No refund after the first class, or a notice period to stop.
• Prices rendered by script that do not appear until you click through.

Ask for the whole schedule, in numbers, before you give anyone a card.

What does the school charge?

The fees page lists everything: a one-off admission fee of , charged only if you accept a place at the end of the free trial; monthly fees of , and for two, three and five days a week of thirty-minute lessons (, and for forty-five-minute courses); group classes at % off; no contract; stop any month. The Scholars Programme waives between a quarter and the whole of the fee for outstanding work, decided from the monthly record.

What should the fee buy?

Not a video call. For the fees above you should expect an examined, background-checked teacher; a classroom in which your child sees the page and the pointer; recordings you can watch; a coordinator who keeps the timetable; and a monthly report with pages, corrections and clips. If an academy offers a lower price without those, it is not cheaper — it is a different product.
