Adults come to the school for three reasons: to correct a recitation they learned as a child and were never corrected on; to learn to read for the first time; or to finally understand what they have recited in prayer for thirty years. Each is a course here, taught one-to-one, in privacy.
Tajweed correction
For those who read fluently but were never corrected — the most common adult student. The rules are taught on the page where they occur, and the teacher works on your specific letters, not a syllabus.
Reading from the beginning
The Noorani Qaidah, taken at an adult's pace and without an audience. Many adults finish it in a few months of two or three lessons a week.
Understanding what you recite
Asan Tarjuma & Mukhtasar Tafseer: word-by-word meaning in Urdu and English, with a short, sound tafsīr — so ṣalāh is no longer recited in a language you do not know.

Questions parents ask
Are lessons one-to-one or in groups?
Both, and you choose. A group class is up to ten students of the same level with one examined teacher, on the same curriculum and the same shared mushaf, at half the one-to-one fee — it is what most families start with. One-to-one is a single teacher and a single student for the whole lesson. Ask at the free trial which suits your child; you can change at any month.
How long is a lesson?
Thirty minutes for the Qaidah, Tajweed, Nazirah and Duas & Namaz; forty-five minutes for Hifz and for Tarjuma & Tafseer.
What equipment do we need?
A laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection and a quiet corner. A tablet works for a student who is reading; the teacher always works from a laptop.
How are teachers selected?
Every candidate applies with their qualifications, then sits an entrance examination in recitation and teaching that is recorded and marked by the Registrar. Those who pass complete a background check, a technical readiness check of their camera, microphone and connection, and sign a continuity undertaking before they are appointed. Only appointed teachers meet students.
Is there a contract?
No. Lessons are billed month to month, and you can stop at any time.
How does the demo work?
You choose a course, a time and the kind of teacher you prefer, and enter a card to secure the slot. A trained teacher then gives a ten-minute lesson in the real online classroom, followed by ten minutes for your questions. At the end the teacher offers admission if the fit is right. If you accept, the admission fee is charged to the saved card; if you decline, nothing is charged and the card is released.
